Is Ecosia legitimate, or is it fake?
You may have heard about Ecosia, the tree-planting search engine. Some websites have claimed that Ecosia is fake or a scam, but this is completely false. There are loads of evidence that Ecosia is legit.
First, there are Ecosia's financial reports. They document how Ecosia's income is spent. In November 2019, they spent money on:
planting 6,737,131 trees (45.5% of total income, €945,983)
operational costs (salaries, taxes, etc.) (37.5%, €781,088)
reserves (11.5%, €240,001)
marketing (5.5%, €108,151)
Ecosia is also a Certified B Corporation, a business "that meet[s] the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose." (source)

Ecosia on Snopes: "As far as we can tell, Ecosia is a legitimate search engine that truly uses a portion of its profits to help plant trees around the world."

And finally, here's a YouTube video analyzing the legitimacy of Ecosia. ( Spoiler alert: Ecosia is real and does plant millions of trees with their profits.)
In conclusion, we can clearly assume that Ecosia is legitimate. Want to do more for our world? Check out other programs that donate to charity for free!
I am NOT sponsored by, related to, or affiliated with Ecosia at all, nor did I intend to make this look like an advertisement. I just feel that it is fun to improve the world without even realizing it. Also, this font was made by Manfred Klein Fonteria. Thanks to Antimatter Dimensions for introducing me to this font.
