How does Ecosia work?

Ecosia uses the ad revenue from web searches to plant trees.
Ecosia makes money every time someone clicks on an ad on the search results.
Every time someone searches on Ecosia, about 0.5 cents of ad revenue is generated on average.
Since it costs Ecosia an average of 22 cents to plant a tree, it takes about 45 searches (not 1!) to plant one tree with Ecosia.
